HELLO, MY NAME IS TATIANA BROWN

I'm an organizer and collaborative governance leader, driven by the question of how we shift power back to communities long excluded from decision-making spaces.

I came to Seattle to build a better toolkit for systems change, and I landed at the University of Washington where I gained Masters degrees in Public Health and Public Administration.

At UW, I led the Campus Sustainability Fund, a student-run grantmaking organization committed to Climate Justice and dove into issues affecting Washingtonians like wealth inequality, a regressive tax structure, worker protections, housing, and protecting communities on the frontline of the climate crisis.

Throughout my life in Seattle, the 37th became my political and cultural home—a center of gravity for my organizing.

Now, I’m running to shift power back to my neighbors in the beautiful 37th, the cultural heart and soul of Washington State.

I’M FIGHTING FOR A STATE THAT WORKING FAMILIES CAN AFFORD

I know a better future is possible, because I've helped build it.

I've been part of pivotal wins like the Virginia Medicaid Expansion Campaign in 2019. I helped implement landmark policy like Washington’s HEAL Act as a co-chair for the Washington State Environmental Justice Council. I've tested out ways to challenge the status quo of what genuine democracy looks like through building out tools like Community Assemblies at the People's Economy Lab. Now I’m bringing what I’ve learned and what I’ve worked on to the State Legislature to build a government that works for the people—not those with the most wealth, time, or political influence.
